Functions of Registration Excise and Prohibition Department, Uttar Pradesh Government

Functions of RegistrationDepartment -

  1. Registration of Marriages - Marriages which fall under the special Marriage Act. 1854.
  2. Registration of documents and deeds - Documents which are registered under the Indian Registration Act, 1908 like Deeds, Mortages, Agree-ments, Bond and Divorces.
  3. Matters relating to Administration of Acts and Rules relating to Registration - Indian Registration Act, 1908 and the Assam Registration Manual as adapted by Meghalaya Government.
  4. Registration of firms - To register the firms under the Indian Partnership Act, 1932 and issue of certificate thereof,

Functions of Excise Department -

Excise Department being a major revenue-earning department apart from fulfilling its primary responsibility of revenue collection, the department controls and regulates the liquor intoxicants and narcotics trade and discharges the responsibility of making available the same in safe quality to the consumers. This department is headed by Excise Commissioner.

 

Functions of Prohibition Department -

1. Administration of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition Act and Rules made there under.

2. Enforcement of Prohibition.

3. Administration of Drugs and Narcotic Laws.
